Additional comment actions. I have a 2004 2.5L X-Type and I think it is pretty good. Mine is at 75k miles. I have had it for 15k of those miles. It has been reliable, required few repairs, does great and snow, it is easy on gas, great interior, and it is so cheap on the used market. I was apprehensive at first, but the car is great.
There are members who have had the gearbox fluid changed at 70k which they say has improved the gearbox performance -- that might do the trick.
