Getting to Lake Como. There are a number of towns on the lake. We chose to start our Lake Como adventure in the town called Como. You can get to Como in just over thirty minutes from Milan. Our train journey began in Florence, we got off a train in Milano Centrale Station and then got another one to Como San Giovanni Station. Lovely outdoor swimming pool on Lake Como and enjoyed a wonderful book on our lounger under the parasol. Also a nice children's pool. In the afternoon we drank delicious Aperol Spritz in the Loungebar. We could have eaten there in the good looking restaurant but we have not done that anymore.

Lake Como is Italy’s deepest lake and located in Italy’s Lombardy region about 40 km north from Milan. The period from July to August is considered the best for swimming. At this time, the water warms up to the maximum temperatures. There are many open-air swimming pools and equipped beaches on Lake Como. The most popular “lidos” are located in Como, Cernobbio, Fagetto Lario, Moltrasio, and Lenno.
